Faith

A song written with the hope that if an abuser hears this song he may stop the terrible deed before he does it.

Faith was from a family of seven kids
And a state supplied home was where she lived
Had no money ‘cept a welfare check
Said she’ll get an education and get out you bet

An abusive alcoholic was the one she called dad
And she hated him with all the passion she had
Though her love for her mother was strong and true
Committed to her brothers and sisters too

Faith was the one who was strong and sturdy
How the little ones loved her so
The only one who would succeed in the family
So level-headed at fifteen years old
